6 Good Accompaniment Ideas For The Brain

For a healthy brain, the social bond is very important. Nothing better than an aperitif with his friends to fill up with a good mood! But often an aperitif rhymes with chips, industrial cakes and oiled and salted peanuts… Here are good accompaniment ideas for the brain!

1 – Seed mix

Easy to nibble, the seed mixture is ideal for pecking while respecting your health.You can take a ready mix or, better, make your own with nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews! It is better to choose a non-salted version.

2- Tapenade


Rich in olive, in oil with the presence of anchovies, the tapenade does not contain too much carbohydrates, good fats and antioxidants … A simple and good cocktail for your brain!

Ingredients for a homemade tapenade

  • 400 g of pitted black olives
  • A dozen capers
  • 4 anchovy fillets in oil
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic


  • Drain the anchovies, squeeze the garlic and then put all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Mix everything gradually.

If you buy a commercial tapenade, choose a recipe as simple as possible and without additives.

3 – Hummus with nuts

The walnuts are rich in omega-3, fats that contribute, among other things, to a functioning brain.


  • 300 g cooked chickpeas
  • 12 nuts
  • 2 tbsp of walnut oil
  • 1 to 2 tbsp of water
  • A dozen basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic


  • Shell the nuts, then cut the garlic cloves into small cubes.
  • Mix nuts, garlic and chickpeas, add oil, basil and water.

4- Arugula verrines

Green leafy vegetables are excellent for the brain, thanks to their many antioxidants and protective vitamins. Here is a pesto recipe based on arugula to cover a verrine containing salmon (cooked or smoked), tomatoes confit or fresh goat cheese.


  • 150 g fresh rocket
  • 1 new onion
  • 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp of fresh liquid cream
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper


  • Mince the onion again.
  • In a blender add all the ingredients, except the cream, and mix.
  • When the texture is almost homogeneous, add the cream, mix and set aside.

5 – Garlic bread

To preserve your brain, you must be careful to choose its starchy foods, for that you must be careful to choose low to medium GI foods.

It is better to turn to sourdough breads, complete, cereals.

Cut the bread into slices, then rub a clove of garlic (previously peeled) on the slice and grill the slices.

It’s perfect to accompany a tapenade or walnut hummus.
